Products Affected:   CalDigit RAID Card, HDElement

From time to time, people want to add a new HDElement or drive to the same RAID array other than creating a new RAID array for the new Element, you can follow the steps below to achieve this.

First of all, you need to use RAIDShield to do expand current array to the newly added HDElement. See the demo video below.

RAIDShield Expansion Demo:

Then there are two different ways to utilize the extra space:

1. Use RAIDShield to create a second slice and a new Lun to assign to the expanded space, then partition the new Lun in Mac Disk Utility or Disk Manager.

2. Use the RAIDShield to clear the original Lun (in this case, your first Lun is Lun 0), then go to "Slicing" to expand Slice 0 to full capacity, then re-assign Lun 0 to the new expanded Slice 0. After that you can use iPartition to expand the user's partition space.
By doing that, you MUST backup your data first before processing any steps above because different OS may have different file system behaviors, and may cause data lost if OS cannot take the changes.
