To update the firmware:
1. You will need to use USB 2.0 cable instead of USB 3.0 cable to connect to VR2..
2. Go to /Applications/CRI_VR2_USB_FirmwareUpdateTool and launch firmware update tool there.
3. Update tool will detect VR2 and update the firmware.

4. Once it gets updated, you can close the update tool and remove the application and files from Application and Extensions folders.
Remove the following files:
/Applications/CRI_VR2_USB_FirmwareUpdateTool
and
/System/Library/Extensions/OxsemiDeviceType00.kext

Notes: The most recent VR2 units have updated to the latest firmware and should have no such issue. This would only affect to the older VR2 that you obtain prior to July 2012.
