Symptoms:
When using the Seagate Backup Plus with the CalDigit Thunderbolt Station or the new FASTA-6GU3 Pro's USB 3.0 ports, the file transfer will encounter a ‘-50’ I/O error (or I/O related errors), or the data transfer will 'hang' after a short period of time.

However, the other brand/model USB storage device would not encounter such error with the station.

Products Affected:   FASTA-6GU3, Thunderbolt Station, FASTA-6GU3 Pro, TS2 - Thunderbolt Station 2

The CalDigit team is currently looking into this issue, and the issue seems to relate to Seagate Backup Plus's bus-power consumption (exceeded the CalDigit's 900mA USB available current).

This issue would not occur on the other brand's USB storage device, as well as the other models from Seagate.

If you have a Seagate backup plus, please use it with the built-in USB ports from the host computer.
