NVRAM Resetting - 1. The following steps show the NVRAM resetting for your Macs which includes non-Thunderbolt, and Thunderbolt 1, 2 Macs. A.Shut down your Mac. B. Find Command (⌘), Option, P, and R on your keyboard. C. Turn on your Mac. D. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you hear the startup sound. E. Hold these keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for a second time. F. Repeat D and E until you hear the 4th startup sound then release the keys. 2. The following steps show the NVRAM resetting for your Thunderbolt 3 Macs which includes late-2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models. A.Shut down your Mac. B.Find Command (⌘), Option, P, and R on your keyboard. C.Turn on your Mac. D.Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you turn on your Mac. E.Hold these keys down for at least 60 seconds to ensure that your Mac completes the process correctly. You will not hear any startup sound during this process and the Mac's monitor will show nothing on the screen. F. Release the keys. After resetting NVRAM, you might need to reconfigure settings for speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and time zone information. SMC Resetting - 3. The following steps show the SMC resetting for the Mac laptop that has nonremovable battery. Most Mac laptops from 2015 have a nonremovable battery. A. Shut down your Mac. B. Using the built-in keyboard, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button att the same time. Hold these keys and the power button for 10 seconds. If you have a Thunderbolt 3 MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the Touch ID button is also the power button. C. Release all keys. D. Press the power button again to turn on your Mac. 4. The following steps show the SMC resetting for the Mac laptop that has removable battery. A. Shut down your Mac. B. Remove the battery. (Please refer to Apple support page.) C. Press and hold the power button for five seconds. D. Press the power button to turn on your Mac. 5. The following steps show the SMC resetting for the Mac desktop such as iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro. A. Shut down your Mac. B. Unplug the power cord. C. Wait 15 seconds. D. Plug the power cord back in. E. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.
