Symptoms:
Slower write speed around 10MB/s.

Summary:
This problem is caused by the new FireWire driver provided by Windows 7.

Products Affected:   CalDigit VR & mini, FireWire VR

Microsoft has realized this issue and has post the hotfix and information on their support site:


Low performance when you transfer a large file between an external IEEE 1394 device and a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

There is a chance that you will not be able to install this hotfix due to the amount of the RAM you have, please wait for newer hotfix.
If above hotfix cannot fix the slow performance issue, please wait for the next hotfix release mentioned in Microsoft support site above.
