Who is the TS3 Lite for?
If you are a 2016 MacBook Pro or PC user with Thunderbolt™ 3, the TS3 Lite will add extra connectivity options to your computer. CalDigit knows that many users already have a way to charge their computers and don’t need a higher cost docking solution that offers charging. The TS3 Lite provides Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C, DisplayPort, USB 3.1 Type-A, USB 3.1 Type-C, Gigabit Ethernet, and Audio In/Out via one single Thunderbolt™ 3 cable. If port expandability is the most important factor, the TS3 Lite offers a plethora of options.

By utilizing DisplayPort as the video output of choice on the TS3 Lite, users have the option of connecting any popular monitor through the use of a DisplayPort to HDMI, DVI, or VGA cable. With a maximum resolution of 5K at 60Hz, the TS3 Lite offers incredible clarity for any workflow. It goes without saying that if you’re connecting a HD or 4K monitor you will get outstanding image quality.
For users who need dual 4K monitors, they can connect a USB-C to HDMI adapter to the second Thunderbolt™ 3 port. Users have the option of using two monitors in either an extended or mirrored desktop.

Connectivity Most modern laptops are featuring less connectivity options. The USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports on the TS3 Lite are a great way for users to add iPhones, iPads, USB storage, and more to their laptop. The dual Thunderbolt™ 3 ports allow professional users the ability to daisy-chain high performance Thunderbolt™ 3 devices such as fast storage. Users can connect up to 6 Thunderbolt™ 3 devices to one computer. The Gigabit Ethernet port can help add a more consistent internet connection and the Audio ports allow users to add microphones and speakers.

Need to charge your iPhone or iPad when your laptop is not connected? The TS3 Lite’s Stand Alone Charging function allows users to charge their devices via the two USB 3.1 Type-A ports even when the TS3 Lite is not connected to a computer. This means that if you’re watching a movie on your laptop in the living room you can continue to charge your iPhone in the office using the TS3 Lite!  |
