    The new T3 with Thunderbolt™ 2 is the groundbreaking successor to the original that brought outstanding performance to compact RAID storage.     While priced similarly to 2-bay RAID storage, the extra drive bay in the T3 allows for a level of flexibility that is not achievable by traditional 2-bay RAID storage. The T3 can be used with 3.5” HDDs and 2.5” SSDs (Solid State Drives). With SSDs in a RAID 0 it can achieve speeds of 1100MB/s, and with 3.5” HDDs it can achieve speeds of 580MB/s.

    Dual Thunderbolt™ 2 ports allows the device to integrate into a powerful 4K workflow that gives users the ability to daisy-chain a 4K monitor and any 4K capable devices.

    The T3 features Thunderbolt™ 2 connectivity that enables transfer speeds up to 20Gb/s and supports 4K video streams. Daisy- chain up to six Thunderbolt™ 2 devices to create the ultimate 4K workflow.


    The T3 Thunderbolt™ 2 allows users to configure the device with either 3.5” HDDs for up to 15TB capacity or 2.5” SSDs for up to 3TB in capacity. Users can also mix and match multiple drive configurations allowing for a combination of 3.5” HDDs and SSDs in the same device. For example users could use an SSD as a scratch disk for their work and use the 3.5” HDDs for data back-up.

The T3 offers incredible value from a performance to cost ratio.  It provides faster performance than dual bay RAID 0, 1 & JBOD devices with either 3.5” HDDs or 2.5” SSDs installed.

    Constructed from rugged die-cast aluminum offering durability, rigidity, and superior thermal conductivity. The T3 is engineered with premium components that surpass inferior materials such as plastic and sheet metal used by competing products.

    The CalDigit T3’s versatile hot-swappable drive bays feature CalDigit’s universal drive module system that allows all three drive modules to be used with many of CalDigit’s storage devices, such as the AV Pro USB 3.0.

    The benefits of the universal drive module system are that users can move data from one location to the other with ease and simplicity. This is something that is not available with other storage devices.

    When the T3 is used in a RAID 1 or JBOD mode, users can just take out one of the drive modules in the T3 using the supplied drive key and insert it into an AV Pro. The computer will read the drive module in the T3 as an external drive, and then users can start working with the files right away.

    A perfect example of this would be to use the T3 in a RAID 1 where users have three back-ups of their files. Then giving those drive modules to other members of their creative team to start working on projects in their AV Pro units without the need to spend time making duplicates.

    Configure the T3 into RAID 0 for incredible performance, RAID 1 for maximum protection. The 3-bay design also allows any combination of RAID 0, or 1 and JBOD.
RAID 0 (Striped)
RAID 0 is ideal for users that require maximum performance from their RAID array. A backup is highly recommend since RAID 0 does not offer any protection.
RAID 1 (Mirrored)
RAID 1 is ideal for those who require a backup solution. Any data written to the RAID will be copied onto each of the three drives, resulting in three copies of data.

The additional HDD in the T3 allows users the flexibility of combining a RAID 0 or 1 with a third JBOD drive.
