The CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 is the first of its kind, combining two next generation interfaces into a single card with throughput speeds of up to 6Gbps*. With both USB 3.0 and 6G eSATA connectivity, the CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 provides a connection for the latest technology. The CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 card has been designed for the most demanding content creators. Applications like video editing, audio sweetening and photography are the perfect fit.
The FASTA-6GU3 provides 2 eSATA ports with the latest SATA 6G technology, allowing for speeds of up to 6Gbps. The new FASTA-6GU3 is completely backwards compatible with legacy SATA devices. It also supports port multiplier enclosures and other devices like external optical drives. The FASTA-6GU3 is also the perfect addition to the CalDigit VR and or CalDigit VR mini.
The FASTA-6GU3 will work with an available 4x PCIe version 1 or 2 slot. The FASTA-6GU3 also supports hot plugging, so there is no need to restart the computer when connecting or disconnecting an eSATA device. The FASTA-6GU3 requires no driver for eSATA operation under OS X Lion.
The FASTA-6GU3 supports many popular features including, S.M.A.R.T., port multiplication, eSATA booting with OS X Lion and support for green and high performance SATA drives. It is also fully compatible with SATA I (1.5G), SATA II (3G) and SATA III (6G) drives.
